About Us

San Luis Paints first opened our doors in 1965 when Art and Bill Trussler began manufacturing paint on Victoria Street. Since that time, we have expanded the business to include stores in Santa Barbara as well as San Luis Obispo County.

In September 2005, San Luis Paints sold our manufacturing facilities as well as four of the retail stores. San Luis Paints retained ownership of the Grover Beach, Santa Barbara, Morro Bay, and Los Osos locations. This August, we again opened a store in San Luis Obispo at the corner of Santa Barbara and High Streets (in the old Quaglino True Value store).

San Luis Paints is the premier local retailer for Benjamin Moore paints. We carry the full line of Benjamin Moore products as well as Benjamin Moore's newest paint, "Aura." Aura is a high quality, low VOC product that has a beautiful color palette and covers in one or two coats, guaranteed. We also carry Maclac lacquers and a full line of sundries to complete your painting projects.
